“Photovoltaic” refers the generation of electricity from light. The word is from the greek word “Photon”. It means light and the unit of voltage “volts” . In the year 1839 the french physicist A. E. Bequerel discovered the principle of electricity generation by light. The solar cells are released from the light and distributes positive and negative charge carriers. (photoelectric effect) This generates direct current.
There are no wear and tear, noises or pollution by energy transformation. The generated dc (direct current) can be used directly for power engine or to charge batteries. Now the direct current can be converts to an inverter and alternating current developes.
